5 Tips For A Great Memorial Day Barbecue

Memorial day is right around the corner, and it has the potential to be one of the most exciting days of the year. As the unofficial starting day of summer, many of us take advantage of the newly warm weather and dust off the grills. We buy food, plan entertainment, and invite guest to share in the celebration to honor and remember the heroes who served our great nation. With the holiday sneaking up, we have developed a few simple barbecue tips to help your celebration become a success.

Tip #1 :

Make sure you have all of the essentials.

Before you barbecue, make sure you have all the essentials you need to get the job done. Propane/charcoal, grilling tools, and food. Having the essentials will ensure you get off to a smooth start.

Tip #2:

Don’t over-think it.

Barbecues are supposed to be simple and fun. Stick with the basics when choosing your menu.  Keep it simple and give yourself time to enjoy the backyard festivities.

Invite early.

Give your family and friends plenty of notice. Send out the invites early, and make sure your expected guests don’t make other plans. It is the unofficial start of summer, and just about everyone is going to jump on plans early.

Always think safety first.

Anytime you light-up the grill think about safety. Check for any grease accumulation and keep your grill clean. Make sure you have a spray bottle full of water just in case of fire flare-ups. It is always better to be safe than to be sorry later.

Stock-up on your favorite cigars before the weekend.

Make sure you have a good selection of cigars available in your humidor. Most cigar shops are closed on Sundays and holidays. You don’t want to be at a backyard barbecue without the enjoyment of your favorite smoke!

Those are just a few simple tips to help you enjoy your holiday. We hope everyone has a wonderful celebration.
