The Rosalila Mundo Presente Corojo features a Honduran Corojo wrapper with very minimal veins. The wrapper is medium in color, very smooth to the touch, and the cigar seems to be very well constructed. This smoke is held together by one band in the middle of the cigar. The band is very colorful with splashes of green, yellow, red, and gold. It features Mayan artwork on top of the words ‘Rosalila’.
The smell off of the wrapper leaf is medium with a hint of earthy notes and tobacco. I used a punch to cut into the cap. The dry draw presents with flavors of earth, spice, and a hint of nuttiness. The draw has the perfect amount of resistance.
Upon lighting the cigar, I notice a lot of the flavors from the cold draw have carried over. The nuttiness has intensified, and it presents more clearly as a cashew type of taste. The hint of cashew pairs perfectly with the earthiness and a black-pepper spice from this smoke. The Rosalila is burning evenly, and it is beginning to feature a nice thick ash.
In the beginning of the second portion of this smoke, the ash is still holding up very well and the draw is perfect. I am still picking up earthy notes, such as dry hay and wood, but the cashew flavor begins to dissipate and fall to the background of the taste profile. A black-peppery profile has began to make an appearance as well as a slight hint of cocoa. The second third also starts to feature some cedar notes which come together with the other flavors to create a balanced profile. The ash is dark gray and the burn-line is even. The cigar is letting off a steady stream of white smoke. I ash for the first time during the smoking experience.
The last third of the Rosalila continues to impress with a balanced profile that was presented in the center portion of the cigar. The retro-hale is very smooth with a slight burn featuring the spices of the cigar. The flavors caress the palate long after the exhale, but the aftertaste is enjoyable. The ash is growing and still presents with a dark gray color. I have removed the cigar band around the body of the smoke. The burn line is almost perfectly even, and the draw is still even. As the cigar burns down closer to the end, the ash is still holding on strongly to the foot. The flavors are black pepper and cedar in the forefront, with the cocoa, earthy tones, and a hint of cashew notes in the background. The final ash fell just before those final draws were made.
The Rosalila Mundo Presente Corojo by Oscar Valladares Tobacco and Company provided a very enjoyable smoking experience. The flavors and body were very well-balanced, and the cigar was very well constructed. There were no touch-ups required to the burn line during this experience, and I found no imperfections during the smoke. The beautiful dark gray ash held strong on the foot, and the draw off of this cigar was very smooth and easy. The flavors that this cigar presented all complemented each other and made for an enjoyable smoking experience. I thoroughly enjoyed smoking this cigar, I will definitely smoke it again, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great smoke. I give the Rosalila Mundo Presente Corojo by Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co a score of 92.
