The leaves are changing colors, the temperature is falling, and Summer is now a distant memory. Autumn has finally arrived, and there are plenty of beers to complement the new season. After some long hard nights of drinking a ton of beer, we have come up with, what we think, are some of the best Autumn beers of the year.
Founders Brewery “Harvest Ale” (American IPA, Michigan, USA, 7.6% ABV)
Founders Brewery Harvest Ale has a complex floral taste, a hint of hops, and citrus taste with a good touch of sweetness. At first sip, it reminds you of a simple Summer IPA, but it leaves you with a warm fall finish.
Six Point Brewery “Autumnation” (American IPA, New York, USA, 6.7% ABV)
Sixpoint Brewery’s Autumnation is a smooth copper ale with hints of citrus, berry and pine flavors. This brew has a nice earthy aroma with slight hints of strawberry and stonefruit. Autumnation is the perfect brew to sip on and watch the leaves change on a fall day.
Southern Tier “Harvest Ale” (Extra Strong Bitter, New York, USA, 6.7% ABV)
Southern Tier Harvest Ale has a refreshing aroma of pine, grass, and caramel. The aroma is complemented by the taste of grapefruit, spices, and a slight bitterness from the hops. The profile of Harvest Ale from Southern Tier comes together to create an exquisite brew to enjoy on a Fall day.
Rouge Farms “Pumpkin Patch Ale” (Pumpkin Ale, Oregon, USA, 5.6% ABV)
Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale is one of our favorite pumpkin brews. It presents with a slight hint of pumpkin that is not overpowering, light hint of cinnamon, and spices. Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale has a very light and pleasing profile, and it is a perfect complement for any October day.
Cigar City Brewing Co. “Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale” (Pumpkin Ale, Florida, USA, 8.5% ABV)
